Conclusion

Well I finally made it, it has not been easy for me I am not that computer savvy but gave it a try.
Some of the applications I explored were great and will use again, others maybe not. But overall
I found a new understanding of web 2.0.

Skype

Today I explored Skype it would be great for me to be able to talk and see my Irish relatives at a fraction of the cost I certainly will look into this option ( but I have to say my Irish relatives are a bit behind the times)

Getting Social

Well today I explored myspace and facebook these are definately not for me. It is more geared around the young and some of the comments are quite crude.

Personally I don't like that your person information is out there for anyone to read.

Second life is great I love the 3D concept that simulates the real world.

RSS and newsfeeds

When I was creating my igoogle web page I explored RSS and created the RSS link of my favorite movie website which gives me regular updates on what is happening in the world of movies.

Flow Charts and Mind Maps

So this is how all those elaborate boxes, lines and squiggles appear on a document how clever, When we eventually do the bathroom renovation I think we will give gliffy a go to help with the designing.
I think that in today's world flow charts and mind maps are a way of life and can be used in just about every application.

Letter Pop

This application is great, we have a Brown family reunion each year and I think this is just what we need to create the next family newsletter.

Discovering Wiki's

Today I discovered the great benefits of a wiki.
A collaborative website which can be directly edited by anyone with access to it Great for people who are into family history.

Google Books

Today I discovered how much can be linked from just searching a book title, it gave me other references to other books of relevance and a google map of significant areas noted in the book.

Exploring Google Doc's

Today I explored Google docs,

how quick and easy to communicate without the need for meetings and the fear of loosing a file.


I like this application it is very cost effective.

iGoogle

I found creating iGoogle difficult, I had many google passwords, with the help of Kymberly she migrated all the google accounts into one username and password which makes life so much easier.

I think iGoogle is great, being able to see all of my interests on one page.

Ebooks

With my love of cooking I found Ebooks absolutely wonderful, I explored Project Gutenberg Australia/ cookery.

There were so many old tried and true great recipes that could be viewed by HTML just fabulous.

Pod Cast

Today I found this very interesting pod cast on a true life spy who wrote a book about her early years in MI5 with a fiction character named Liz Carlyle.

My first experience with You Tube

The first musical I can remember going to was Evita in the early 80's at the princess theatre wonderful show. The power of the internet using this tool wow!!!
